  • Two years ago we found a mutated plant in one row of Rozella plants.  Instead  of  the usual dark pink blooms, we found a plant with half of the stems delivering beautiful pale pink ones. Rozella being an ex

  • Many peony shows have been going on. This was the Dutch peony show at CNB (a very large plant brokering company).

  • Some temporary issues have arisen (it seems to never stop). Hence the homepage is a simpler backup version until the magazine articles overview works fine again. The news updating process has been allocated even more memory resources as it seems it keeps asking for more and more perpetually and when not having enough slows down the site or crashes…[Read more]

  • This plant has grown up from a failed tree peony. I expected the blooms would be unremarkable, and planned to remove it to replace with another tree peony. Never got to it, so was pleasantly surprised to see these blooms. Thought others might enjoy. 20190519_16373620190519_16371720190519_163635

I’ve now spent the entire day surfing on the internet, studying web pages in Ukraine, USA and finally Japan.

I got as far as to Daikon-island in Japan, next to the city of Matsue, and a garden there called “Yuushien”. On their web page I found information about the tree peony ‘King of Flowers’, which has been cultivated by Saburo Watanabe on…[Read more]

Well, I’m glad it was helpful.

Thumbs up that they grow well. The description from the Ukrainian site gives frost hardiness up to minus 30°C, which is quite hardy of course. But long ago when I  studied as an exchange student in Kobenhavn, I used to know a Finnish girl and when I once remarked that it was rather cold she told me at her place t…[Read more]
