Please join us in welcoming Piet Wierstra to Alaska for his presentation.
Piet was born and raised in the Netherlands and was part owner of a business growing tulips, lilies and iris. In 1986, he accepted an offer to move to Oregon and manage the production of 2000 acres for Oregon Bulb Farms. It was there that he first came in contact and fell in love with peonies. In 1992, he started Oregon Perennial Company with his son Andre. Much of their crop today consists of peonies, which are grown for bare root division and cut flowers. Oregon Perennial Company provides premium U.S. grown root-stock to cut flower growers, wholesalers, and nurseries located in North America and Europe. Piet is a past president of the Pacific Northwest Peony Society and now on the board of the American Peony Society. He loves collecting peony specimens and has quite the collection in his own garden
