Parentage: Sedona x Rosalind Elsie Franklin

Registration description:
Official registration can be found at: The American Peony Society

Seedling number NB1. Parentage: ‘Sedona’ x ‘Rosalind Elsie Franklin’, thus an advanced generation Lutea hybrid. SEMI-DOUBLE lavender-pink flowers, becoming darker toward the center. The darker coloration leads to dark flares. Flowers 7 inches in size (18 cm) comprised of 22 to 26 petals. Petals have wavy edges and show crimping. Very floriferous for a lutea hybrid, rivaling the suffruticosas. Carpels green, average 5 in number, stigmas pink, sheath light pink and filaments are pink topped with golden anthers. Fertile both ways, but seed production requires effort. Good stem hardiness with most stems flowering each year. Grows heavy woody stems and has excellent medium green lobed leaves. Height is around 4½ feet (135 cm) but may grow taller in more reasonable climates. Note that Lutea hybrids are prone winter kill of stems in Wisconsin and typically do not grow over 4 feet, but reliably regrow and bloom from basal buds.
