Large brilliant pink, full double. Opens slowly, lasting two weeks. Deep, rich green foliage. Very showy flower. Officinalis rubra plena x Madame Jules Dessert.
This peony has a long history in Finland, Sweden and Norway, and possibly back to the early 19th century in England. The registrant (Marstein (2013)) believes it fits the description given for P. paradoxa ssp. fimbriata in Robert Sweet’s “The British Flower Garden” (1823-25).
