A few days ago we have received an invitation for all peony collectors and people interested in them. If you would like to add some (rare?) cultivars or species to his garden, it might be a good idea to contact Whistling Gardens in Canada.

Hello,  I’m am the owner of Whistling Gardens in Wilsonville, Ontario.
We have an extensive peony collection at our botanical gardens with approximately 1,300 species and cultivars.  According to David Michener from the Nichols Arboretum,  this is the largest public collection in North America and one of the largest in the world.  I thought your members may be interested as we have visitors from around the world visiting to see the collection.  It would also be nice to possibly connect with other members as we continue to look for species and varieties not currently in the collection.  All of our peonies were donated to the collection by  David Maltby (past president of Canadian Peony Society) and Joe and Hazel Cook (board of directors for the American Peony Society).
I’m happy to correspond with you more on the gardens and the collection itself.
      Kindest regards,
      Darren Heimbecker
