A strange thing to be seen. P. clusii was taken from artificial cold storage to the greenhouse in September. It grew fine, too small to flower. It has remained green until now more or less. In November and December temperatures in the greenhouse were low, but always above freezing temperatures, whilst from mid-December temperature went up again as other flowers were brought in. Now what I noticed is this: the new shoots are already sprouting, as can be seen from the images, not merely enlarging, the new foliage can already be seen. Some other species also seem to show this, although less advanced. I was wondering whether anyone else has experienced something similar, peonies going through their cold requirements while still having green foliage?
