Tree Peony. No seedling number. Pod parent a Rockii hybrid of unknown origin, pollen parent unknown, possibly ‘Taiyo’ (Japanese tree peony). First bloomed 1999. First propagated 2004. SEMI-DOUBLE flowers, Pink (RHS 58 B/C), 18 cm (7 inches) diameter, one per stem. Petals are rounded, with dark, nearly black flares. Fragrance, but not strong. Carpels 5 or more in number, light green, moderately hairy. Stigmas pink, normal. Has stamens and pollen, produces seeds. Sheath pink, complete. Foliage green, suffused purple. Upright spreading growth to 1.5 m (5 feet). Named after the musical term meaning an upbeat or vivid tempo, which is suggested by the unusually vivid pink color of the flower.
