ITOH GROUP. Parentage: Anderson seedling #112 x Anderson seedling #4202. First bloomed 2002, first propagated 2003. SEMI-DOUBLE. Richly colored, deep, dark velvety-red flowers, 5 inches in size. Average of 5 carpels, sparsely hairy, cream colored, with pink stigmas. Stamens, no pollen, no seeds. Typically one bloom per stem. Has fragrance, blooms midseason. Grows to a height of 30 inches, the same or more in width. A symmetrical mounding growth habit. Named for Chief Black Hawk (1767-1838).
