Seedling number S 521. Parentage unknown. First bloomed 2002. Single-flowered herbaceous hybrid. Three inch wide cupped, rounded, partially crinkled petals form an eight inch flower, one bloom per stem. Cream coloured, intensifying in places to patches of warm pink verging on apricot and suffused in parts to yellow or viridescent yellow. In cool climates or when subjected to cool spring weather, the interior of the opening cup has an attractive viridescent inner glow cast by the greenish base of the numerous bright-yellow filaments which, under these conditions, have a luminous quality. Average of three pale green carpels with pale pink stigmata. Stamens and pollen. Very fertile. Somewhat fragrant, medium-sized flowers held above the plant open late for a hybrid. Somewhat spreading 35″ plant with medium green, moderately pointed leaflets. Name is maiden name of mother of originator’s maternal grandfather.
