A Gansu Mudan by Chen Dezhong from earlier than 1985. An exquisite flower some 15-20 cm in diameter on a vigorous shrub. The pink petals gradually lighten as the flower ages. One of my favorite Gansu Mudan and my only criticism is that it is a rather lax in its habit. The name means ‘Blue Lotus’
