Parentage: Paeonia delavayi x Paeonia (Suffruticosa Gp) ‘Chōjoraku’. First bloomed 2012, first propagated 2013. SINGLE flower form. Red (RHS:45B), flares absent. One flower per stem, size 3 inches (7.5 cm) with out-facing display. Guard petals rounded, somewhat frilled, lightly notched, 1½ inches in width (3.6 cm). Carpels, average of 4, pale greenish yellow (RHS:145C), very hairy. Stigmas red (RHS:45B), feathered. Pollen-bearing stamens, pollen profuse. Filaments red at the base (RHS:45B), becoming yellow towards the tips. Fragrance. No seeds. Partial sheath, red (RHS:45B). Early foliage emerges green. Somewhat spreading growth habit, height to 20 inches (50 cm), support not needed. Drought and cold resistance when established.
