Seedling number 20, held in the germplasm repository of the Horticulture and Plant Protection College, Yangzhou University. Parentage unknown. First year bloomed 2009; first propagated 2010. ANEMONE. Flower size 5¾ inches (14½ cm). Color dark pink (RHS 64C). Guard petals are rounded, but with a notch. Narrow linear petaloids tipped yellow. May have wider petaloids in the center, these not so tipped. Normally 5 carpels, green (RHS 143C) and smooth. Yellowish green stigmas of normal morphology and fertile. Not fragrant. Narrow pointed foliage. At 26½ inches (67 cm) it is a short plant and has a low broad growth habit. Mechanical support not needed. One flower per stem, but can have 30 flowers which makes it very suitable for garden display in the near border. Named for the resemblance of these many flowers to the sparkling stars in the sky.
