Seedling 01/005. Parentage: open pollinated seedling of P. decomposita ssp. rotundifolia (parent plant sourced from Peace Peony Nursery in Gansu, China). First bloomed 2010. SEMI-DOUBLE. Flowers 20 cm (8”) in size, 1 to 2 per stem. Fragrance. Petals light purple (RHS CC 75 C) with red flares (RHS CC 74 C) extending about 1/3 the length of the petals, and having blurred edges. Carpels on average 5, sparsely hairy, stigmas white. Pollen bearing stamens, filaments white. Produces seeds. Upright growth to 1.5 m (5 feet). Planted in half shade (since the seed parent does not do well in full sun), the plant has proved extremely vigorous.
